Coretta Scott King, Rosa Parks: Black History Photo Of The Day (2/6/13)
Today’s photo was taken on January 14, 1980, showing Coretta Scott King giving Rosa Parks a kiss on the cheek as Parks received the Martin Luther King, Jr. Non-violent Peace Prize in Atlanta. Parks, who was the first woman to receive the award, was also honored by the U.S. Postal Service this week with a postage stamp commemorating her 100th birthday.
